West Niagara Nationals Major Rookie Team has a great showing in the Thorold Hardball Tournament held June 15-17
West Niagara started tournament play Friday evening playing a game against Halton Hills.  The West Niagara Rookie Team had a solid win using a combination of great hits and smart defensive plays.  They continued to bring the “HOT” bats and stellar defensive gloves into Saturdays’ games vs. Amherstburg and Pelham, which put them heading into the semi-finals with a 3-0 record.

In the semi finals vs. Kawartha Lakes West Niagara got off to a slow start giving up 6 runs in the first inning.  The boys battled back hard to tie the game but in the 7th inning the Kawartha Lakes Cubs took the semi-final game defeating West Niagara by 1 run.  Great Job West Niagara Nationals, Looking forward to the rest of the Season!

Players of the game during the Tournament were awarded to:  Carson Chrystian, Elliot “Moose” Jackson, Luke Hogan and Hayden Perry.
