WN Rookie Blue Champions!!
Congratulations to WN Rookie Blue!!
After an up & down
regular season, the West Niagara Nationals HL Blue team put together a run
for the ages this past weekend. After going 3-0 on Saturday/Sunday they
traveled to Thorold Monday to play a spirited Welland Mudhen's team in the
Championship game.
Welland had also gelled at the right time, and a back and forth affair saw WN leading by 6 heading into the top of last inning. Welland mounted a charge, and after scoring 5 runs, with runners on 1st & 2nd and 2 out, WN held on for a 12-11 WN victory. Addison Wright for WN was the game MVP with some big hits and several outstanding plays in the field as Griffin Wannaker let the hitting attack with 3 doubles. Congratulations on a great season.
